Award Deadline & Announcement of Awards
Applications are due by 5:00 pm on April 10, 2009. Selection decisions will be made by May 1, 2009 and communicated to applicants by email.
Selection Criteria
In selecting from among qualified candidates, we will strive for diversity of interests in ethics in public life and for broad representation across the University’s schools and colleges and undergraduate concentrations. In selecting Fellows, we will consider:
- The applicant’s proposed project
- The applicant’s academic record (including coursework related to ethics)
- The applicant’s engagement with ethics in public life through activities on campus or in the community as reflected in the applicant’s resume
- The ability of the applicant to commit the time necessary for a successful Fellows experience.
Materials to be Submitted with Application
- A 500 word statement describing the applicant’s interests in ethics and public life and the project s/he would pursue as an Undergraduate Fellow
- A current transcript (available through Wolverine Access)
- A resume that provides information about the applicant’s work experience, research experience, and engagement in campus and community activities
- A description of other obligations for 2009-10 (leadership positions in student organizations, part-time job, volunteer activities, etc.)
